The Greens are a fresh political force, active and involved at every level from local to global. In over 70 countries round the world, Green parties and political movements work for the Earth, social justice, democracy and nonviolence.

The first Green parties formed in Tasmania and New Zealand in 1972. Now the Greens are everywhere.

Greens are represented in thousands of local governments; hundreds of state and regional parliaments; and are part of national governments in countries like Mexico, France, Germany and Belgium

Regionally, Green parties and political movements have formed the African Federation of Green Parties, the European Federation of Green Parties, the Federation of Green Parties of the Americas, and the Asia Pacific Green Network.
